  • Beakers: Uses, Applications, and Limitations in Laboratory Settings
Beakers are not the most precise tool for measuring liquids. While they can be used to get an approximate volume, they are primarily used for:

    * Holding and mixing liquids: Beakers are designed to be sturdy and have a wide opening, making them ideal for mixing, stirring, and holding various liquids.

    * Heating liquids: They are often made of heat-resistant glass (like Pyrex), allowing them to be used on hot plates or in water baths for heating.

    * Transferring liquids: Their wide mouth and spout make it easy to pour liquids from one container to another.

For more precise measurement, you would use graduated cylinders, volumetric flasks, or pipettes.
