  • Plant vs. Animal Cells: Understanding Genetic Material
Both plant cells and animal cells contain genetic material.

    Here's why:

    * Genetic material (DNA) is essential for life. It contains the instructions for building and maintaining an organism.

    * All living organisms, including plants and animals, need DNA to function.

The location of the genetic material differs slightly:

    * Plant cells: The genetic material is found within the nucleus, as well as in the chloroplasts (for photosynthesis) and mitochondria (for energy production).

    * Animal cells: The genetic material is mainly found within the nucleus, with some small amounts in mitochondria.

    So, the answer is both!
