  • Photosynthesis in Plant Cells: How Glucose is Created
    Plant cells use carbon dioxide to make glucose.

    This process is called photosynthesis, where plants use energy from sunlight to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose (a type of sugar) and oxygen. The equation for photosynthesis is:

    6CO₂ + 6H₂O + light energy → C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂

    * CO₂: Carbon dioxide

    * H₂O: Water

    * C₆H₁₂O₆: Glucose

    * O₂: Oxygen
