  • Curaçao Apple: Scientific Name & What It Really Is
The "Curaçao apple" is a bit of a misnomer. It's not actually an apple, but rather a type of melon with the scientific name Cucumis melo var. cantaloupensis.

It's often called a Curaçao apple because its flavor is similar to apples and because the islands of Curaçao are known for producing this melon variety.
