  • Understanding Ear Anatomy: Location of Ossicles - Middle Ear
The ossicles are located in the middle ear.

    Here's why:

    * Outer ear: This is the part you see, including the pinna (the visible part of the ear) and the ear canal. It's responsible for collecting sound waves.

    * Middle ear: This is a small, air-filled chamber behind the eardrum. It houses the three ossicles: malleus, incus, and stapes. These tiny bones amplify sound vibrations.

    * Inner ear: This is the innermost part of the ear, containing the cochlea (for hearing) and the vestibular system (for balance).
