  • Understanding Tissues: What Doesn't Count?
A non-example of tissue would be anything that is not a group of similar cells working together to perform a specific function. Here are some examples:

    * A single cell: Tissues are made up of multiple cells, so a single cell is not a tissue.

    * An organ: While organs are made up of different types of tissues, they are not themselves tissues.

    * A body system: Similar to organs, body systems are composed of multiple organs and tissues, but are not tissues themselves.

    * A molecule: Molecules are the building blocks of cells, and are much smaller than tissues.

    * An organism: Organisms are complete living things made up of multiple systems, organs, and tissues, but they are not tissues themselves.

Think of it like this: a tissue is like a team of workers in a factory. Each worker (cell) has a specific job, and together they all contribute to the factory's (organ) overall function.
