  • Phenylalanine: The Unique Monomer in Almonds
The monomer found in almonds but not in RNA is phenylalanine.

    Here's why:

    * Almonds are a rich source of protein, and proteins are made up of amino acids. Phenylalanine is an essential amino acid, meaning our bodies cannot produce it and we must obtain it from our diet.

    * RNA (ribonucleic acid) is a nucleic acid involved in protein synthesis. It is made up of nucleotide monomers, which consist of a sugar (ribose), a phosphate group, and a nitrogenous base (adenine, guanine, cytosine, or uracil).

While both almonds and RNA contain carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen, only almonds contain the amino acid phenylalanine, which is not a component of RNA.
