  • Understanding the Male Reproductive System: Key Functions
The three main functions of the male reproductive system are:

    1. Production of sperm: The testes are responsible for producing sperm, the male reproductive cells. This process is called spermatogenesis.

    2. Production of hormones: The testes also produce testosterone, the primary male sex hormone. Testosterone is essential for the development of male secondary sex characteristics, such as muscle mass, body hair, and a deep voice, as well as for sperm production.

    3. Delivery of sperm: The male reproductive system includes a network of tubes and ducts that transport sperm from the testes to the outside of the body. This includes the epididymis, vas deferens, and urethra. These structures work together to ensure sperm is delivered to the female reproductive system during sexual intercourse.
