  • Plant Reproduction: Understanding Seed Production in Flowers
The part of the plant that produces seeds is the flower.

    Here's why:

    * Flowers are the reproductive organs of plants. They contain the structures necessary for sexual reproduction, which leads to seed production.

    * Inside the flower, the ovary contains ovules. These ovules are the precursors to seeds.

    * Pollen, produced by the male part of the flower (the stamen), fertilizes the ovules. This fertilization triggers the ovule to develop into a seed.

So, while the seed itself is the result of a complex process, it all starts within the flower!
