  • Mitochondria & Chloroplasts: Which Cells Contain Both?
The type of cell that contains both mitochondria and chloroplasts is a plant cell.

    Here's why:

    * Mitochondria are found in all eukaryotic cells, including plant cells, animal cells, fungi, and protists. They are responsible for cellular respiration, which produces energy (ATP) for the cell.

    * Chloroplasts are found only in plant cells and some algae. They are responsible for photosynthesis, the process of converting light energy into chemical energy in the form of sugars.

So, while both plant and animal cells have mitochondria, only plant cells have chloroplasts.
