James Watson did his groundbreaking work on the structure of DNA at the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge in England.

He collaborated with Francis Crick, and together they used X-ray diffraction data from Rosalind Franklin and Maurice Wilkins to build their famous double helix model of DNA.
