  • Pituitary Gland: The Conductor of Your Endocrine System
The term "master gland" is often used to describe the pituitary gland. This is because the pituitary gland secretes hormones that control the activity of other endocrine glands in the body.

However, the term "master gland" is somewhat misleading, as the pituitary gland itself is controlled by the hypothalamus, a part of the brain. Therefore, a more accurate term would be "conductor of the endocrine system" or "the central gland".
