  • Amoeba Excretion: Understanding Waste Removal in Amoebas
Amoeba excretes waste products through a process called diffusion.

    Here's how it works:

    * Waste Products: Amoeba produces waste products like carbon dioxide (CO2) and ammonia (NH3) through metabolic processes.

    * Cell Membrane: The cell membrane of the amoeba is selectively permeable, meaning it allows certain substances to pass through while blocking others.

    * Diffusion: Waste products like CO2 and ammonia have a higher concentration inside the amoeba than outside. This concentration difference drives the diffusion of these waste products out of the cell through the cell membrane.

    * No Specialized Organs: Amoeba lacks specialized excretory organs like kidneys or nephridia found in more complex organisms.

So, in simple terms, amoeba gets rid of its waste by letting it diffuse out of its body through its cell membrane.
