  • Fovea Vision: Understanding Rod and Cone Cell Distribution
There are no rods located in the human fovea.

The fovea is a small, central pit in the macula of the retina, responsible for sharp, central vision. It's densely packed with cones, which are photoreceptor cells responsible for color vision and high visual acuity. Rods, on the other hand, are responsible for peripheral vision and vision in low light. They are located in the periphery of the retina and are absent from the fovea.
