  • Kidneys: How They Regulate Water Balance and Waste Removal
The organ that removes water and absorbs it back into your body is the kidney.

    Here's how it works:

    * Filtration: The kidneys filter your blood, removing waste products and excess water. This filtered fluid, called urine, is then sent to the bladder for storage.

    * Reabsorption: The kidneys are also responsible for reabsorbing important substances back into your bloodstream, including water, glucose, electrolytes, and amino acids. This process helps to regulate your body's water balance and prevent dehydration.

So, while the kidneys remove water during filtration, they also play a crucial role in absorbing water back into your body to maintain proper hydration.
