  • The History of Natural Fibers: Origins and Evolution
It's impossible to pinpoint a specific person who "discovered" natural fibers. Here's why:

    * Natural fibers have been used since the dawn of humanity. Humans have always utilized materials found in nature for clothing, shelter, and tools.

    * The development of fiber use was gradual. Over time, people experimented with different plants and animals to find the best materials for their needs. There was no single "Eureka!" moment.

    Examples:

    * Cotton: Cotton was likely first cultivated and used for clothing in the Indus Valley around 5000 BC.

    * Wool: Sheep were domesticated around 9000 BC, leading to the use of wool for clothing.

    * Silk: The cultivation of silkworms and the production of silk fabric are attributed to ancient China around 2700 BC.

Therefore, rather than attributing the discovery to a single individual, it's more accurate to say that the use of natural fibers was a collective human effort that evolved over thousands of years.
