  • White Turtlehead Flower: Pollinators & Lack of Animal Consumption
White turtlehead (Chelone glabra) is a flowering plant in the plantain family Plantaginaceae. It is native to North America, where it is found in moist meadows, swamps, and along streambanks. The flowers of white turtlehead are white or pale pink, and they bloom from July to September. The nectar produced by the flowers attracts a variety of pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. However, there is no evidence that any animals eat the white turtlehead flower. White turtlehead is considered to be a non-toxic plant, and it is not known to be eaten by any animals.
