  • Messenger RNA (mRNA): The Delivery System for Genetic Information
Messenger RNA (mRNA) is the molecule responsible for carrying the genetic information encoded on DNA from the nucleus to the ribosomes. It acts as a messenger that transmits the genetic code from the DNA in the nucleus to the ribosomes in the cytoplasm, where protein synthesis occurs. mRNA carries the information necessary to synthesise specific proteins based on the sequence of nucleotides in the DNA. This allows the genetic information stored in DNA to be translated into the production of proteins, which play various roles in the cell.
