    As of 2023, there are over 7,000 known human genetic disorders. These disorders are caused by variations or mutations in the DNA sequence of an individual. Some of the most common genetic disorders include cystic fibrosis, sickle cell disease, Huntington's disease, and Down syndrome. Genetic disorders can be passed down from parents to children, or they can occur spontaneously.
