The prokaryotic cells are the ones that lack membrane-bound nucleus. The prokaryotes are the type of cells that are found in bacteria and Archea. Prokaryotic cells do not have membrane-bound organelles such as mitochondria, chloroplasts, or a nucleus. Instead, prokaryotic cells have their genetic material floating free in the cytoplasm.
