When an organism's population increase, that means resources that would go to another species is taken by this organisms increasing in populaltion, affecting both predator and prey of this organisms in both positive and negative ways, depending on which organisms are involved:
* The population of the organism's prey will likely decrease. This is because the increased population of the organism will consume more of the prey, leading to a shortage of food for the prey population.
* The population of the organism's predators will likely increase. This is because the increased population of the organism will provide more food for the predators.
* The population of other organisms in the food chain may also be affected. For example, if the population of a plant-eating organism increases, the population of the plants that it eats will decrease. This could then lead to a decrease in the population of the organisms that eat those plants.
