  • Plant vs. Animal Cells: Unique Organelles Explained
Plant cells and animals contain most of the same organelles, with a few key exceptions. Here are the organelles that are not shared by plant and animal cells:

    - Chloroplast: Chloroplasts are organelles found in plants and algae that contain chlorophyll and are responsible for photosynthesis. Animals do not contain chloroplasts because they do not perform photosynthesis.

    - Cell Wall: Plant cells have a cell wall made of cellulose, pectin, and other polysaccharides that provide support and protection for the cell. Animal cells do not have a cell wall.

    - Vacuoles: Plant cells have large central vacuoles that store water, ions, and other nutrients. Animal cells may have small vacuoles that perform a variety of functions.
