  • Plant Cell Structure: Understanding Cell Walls and Rigidity
    Cell wall

The cell wall is a rigid structure that surrounds the cell membrane of plant cells. It is made up of cellulose, hemicellulose, and pectin. The cell wall provides strength and support for the cell, and it also helps to regulate the movement of water and nutrients into and out of the cell. Animal cells do not have a cell wall, so they are not as rigid as plant cells.
