Explanation – F1 generation in a Mendelian experiment is the first generation of offspring resulting from a cross. All the individuals of the F1 generation are heterozygous, which means they carry both dominant and recessive alleles. But in the case of a monohybrid cross between two homozygous parents all F1 generation are homozygous and show dominant phenotype.
