  • Photosynthesis: Products and the Process of Creating Glucose & Oxygen
The two main products of photosynthesis are glucose and oxygen. Glucose is created from carbon dioxide and water, while oxygen is released as a byproduct of the process. It is often said that the overall reaction of photosynthesis can be written as:

    $$ 6CO_2 + 6H_2O + light energy → C_6H_{12}O_6 + 6O_2$$

    - Carbon dioxide (CO2) is converted into glucose (C6H12O6), which is a type of sugar.

    - Oxygen (O2) is released as a waste product.
