  • Beagle 2 Mars Lander: Tracking the Lost Probe - ESA
Beagle 2 is a British lander that was part of the European Space Agency's Mars Express mission. It was launched on June 2, 2003, and entered Mars' orbit on December 19, 2003. Beagle 2 was designed to land on the surface of Mars and study its geology and climate. However, contact was lost with Beagle 2 shortly after its entry into the Martian atmosphere.

There have been several attempts to find Beagle 2, but none have been successful. In 2004, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter took images of the area where Beagle 2 was supposed to have landed, but no sign of the lander was found. In 2015, the European Space Agency announced that it was planning a new mission to Mars, called the ExoMars mission, which will include a lander that will attempt to find Beagle 2.

The search for Beagle 2 continues, and it is hoped that one day it will be found and its mission will be completed.
