Early land crawlers, such as amphibians and reptiles, did not have bones made of calcium phosphate like modern humans and other mammals. Instead, their skeletons were made of cartilage or bone made of other materials.

As such, bone ease acid would not have played a role in their locomotion or adaptation to land.
