Dolly's sisters, other cloned animals, provide evidence against the hypothesis that cloned animals age prematurely. Dolly was thought to look older that her chronological age because she was born from an adult cell and therefore her cells may have began aging before she was born. Dolly died prematurely of lung disease after she contracted ovine pulmonary adenocarcinoma, which is a type of lung cancer common to sheep.
