* Kidney damage
Leptospirosis can be a serious disease, and it can even be fatal in some cases. However, it can be treated with antibiotics if it is caught early.
Prevention:
There are a number of things you can do to help prevent leptospirosis in your pets:
* Vaccinate your pets against leptospirosis.
* Keep your pets away from areas where there are wild animals, such as rats, mice, and raccoons.
* Avoid letting your pets drink from standing water.
* Keep your pets' food and water bowls clean.
* Wash your hands thoroughly after handling your pets.
If you think your pet may have leptospirosis, take them to the vet immediately.
