  • Understanding Sunlight Wavelengths: A Comprehensive Guide
Sunlight is actually a mixture of many different wavelengths, not just one. This is why we see all the colors of the rainbow in sunlight!

    Here's a breakdown:

    * Visible Light: This is the part of sunlight we can see, and it spans wavelengths from approximately 380 nanometers (violet) to 750 nanometers (red).

    * Infrared Light: This is beyond red, with longer wavelengths than visible light. We can't see it, but we feel it as heat.

    * Ultraviolet Light: This is beyond violet, with shorter wavelengths than visible light. It can cause sunburn, and is partially filtered by the Earth's atmosphere.

So, there's no single "wavelength of sunlight" - it's a spectrum!
