  • Solar Wind: Understanding the Plasma State of Matter
The solar wind is a stream of charged particles, primarily plasma.

Plasma is often referred to as the fourth state of matter, alongside solid, liquid, and gas. It's a superheated gas where the electrons have been stripped from the atoms, creating a mixture of ions and free electrons. This makes plasma electrically conductive and highly responsive to magnetic fields, which are key characteristics of the solar wind.
