  • Anders Celsius: The Scientist Behind the Celsius Temperature Scale
    The Celsius scale is named after Swedish astronomer Anders Celsius.

    He didn't *invent* the concept of a temperature scale, but he did create a specific scale in 1742. Originally, his scale had 0°C as the boiling point of water and 100°C as the freezing point. This was later reversed by other scientists to the scale we use today.
