    5. Home to the Aurora Borealis: The aurora borealis (northern lights) and aurora australis (southern lights) occur in the upper stratosphere and lower thermosphere. They are created by charged particles from the sun interacting with the Earth's magnetic field.

    6. Limited Air Traffic: Due to the lack of oxygen and the presence of ozone, the stratosphere is not suitable for conventional aircraft travel. However, some high-altitude aircraft like the U-2 spy plane and weather balloons operate in the lower stratosphere.

    7. Importance for Climate Research: Studying the stratosphere is crucial for understanding climate change. The stratosphere is impacted by human activities, such as the release of greenhouse gases and ozone-depleting substances.
