  • Understanding Clouds: What Are They Made Of & How Close Can We Get?
This is a fun question! Here's the answer:

No one can *touch* the clouds in the traditional sense.

    * Clouds are made of tiny water droplets or ice crystals. These particles are so small and spread out that they don't feel solid like a wall.

    * Clouds are very high up in the atmosphere. Even the highest mountains don't reach the clouds.

    But here's the interesting part:

    * Pilots can fly through clouds. Airplanes are designed to handle the conditions inside clouds.

    * Mountain climbers can sometimes be above the clouds. If you climb a very tall mountain, you might be above the clouds, with a view of the world below.

So, while we can't literally touch a cloud, we can experience being inside or above them!
