  • Sun vs. sun: Understanding Proper Noun Usage
    The Sun is a star, and "star" is usually capitalized when referring to our Sun specifically.

    While it's technically correct to say "the sun" (lowercase) when referring to any star, it's more common to capitalize "Sun" when talking about our own star in the solar system.

    So, it's more accurate to say: "The Sun is a star," or "Our star is the Sun."
