  • Understanding the Sun: Yellow Dwarf Star Explained
The Sun is a yellow dwarf star.

    Here's why:

    * Yellow Dwarf: Our Sun is classified as a yellow dwarf star. It's a main-sequence star, meaning it's fusing hydrogen into helium in its core. This process generates the energy that makes the Sun shine.

    * Neutron Star: Neutron stars are incredibly dense and small objects formed from the collapse of massive stars. They are not the same as our Sun.

    * White Dwarf: White dwarfs are the dense remnants of stars like our Sun after they have exhausted their nuclear fuel. Our Sun will eventually become a white dwarf.

    * Red Giant: A red giant is a stage in the evolution of a star like our Sun. It happens before it becomes a white dwarf. Our Sun will become a red giant in about 5 billion years.

So, while our Sun will eventually become a white dwarf, it's currently a yellow dwarf star.
