  • Short-Period Comets: Definition, Origin, and Characteristics
Comets that orbit the Sun every 200 years or less are typically called short-period comets.

There is no specific name for comets with a 200-year orbital period, but the distinction between short-period and long-period comets is based on their orbital periods:

    * Short-period comets: Have orbital periods of less than 200 years. They are generally believed to originate in the Kuiper Belt, a region beyond Neptune.

    * Long-period comets: Have orbital periods of more than 200 years. These comets typically come from the Oort Cloud, a vast, spherical shell of icy bodies much farther out in the Solar System.

So, while there is no specific term for comets with a 200-year orbital period, they would be classified as short-period comets.
