  • Star Colors: A Guide to Stellar Temperatures & Appearance
Stars come in a variety of colors, from red to blue. The color of a star is determined by its surface temperature.

    Here's a general guide:

    * Red stars: The coolest stars, with surface temperatures around 3,500 Kelvin (K).

    * Orange stars: Slightly hotter than red stars, around 4,000-5,000 K.

    * Yellow stars: Like our Sun, with temperatures around 5,500-6,000 K.

    * White stars: Hotter still, around 7,500-10,000 K.

    * Blue stars: The hottest stars, with temperatures exceeding 10,000 K.

It's important to note that the color we perceive from Earth can be affected by factors like dust and gas in space. However, a star's true color is a good indicator of its temperature.
