  • Is Our Sun a Binary Star? Exploring Solar System Structure
That's correct! Our Sun is not part of a binary system.

A binary system consists of two stars orbiting a common center of mass. While many stars in the galaxy are part of binary systems, our Sun is a solitary star.

There's no evidence of another star close enough to be gravitationally bound to our Sun, and therefore no evidence that we are part of a binary system.
