  • Why is the Moon Visible at Night? Understanding Sunlight and Lunar Phases
The Sun doesn't actually help us see the Moon at night. It's the light from the Sun that makes the Moon visible to us. Here's how:

    1. Sunlight: The Sun emits a massive amount of light.

    2. Reflection: This light reaches the Moon, and the Moon's surface reflects some of it back towards Earth.

    3. Moon Phases: The amount of reflected sunlight we see from Earth changes depending on the Moon's position relative to the Sun and Earth, causing the different Moon phases (new moon, crescent, full moon, etc.).

So, while we see the Moon at night, the light we see is actually sunlight that has been reflected off the Moon's surface.
