  • Percival Lowell's Search for Planet X: A Historical Perspective
Percival Lowell searched for Planet X.

He was convinced that there was a ninth planet beyond Neptune, based on irregularities in the orbits of Uranus and Neptune. He spent years observing the sky and meticulously calculating its potential location. While Planet X wasn't found to be in the spot he predicted, his search led to the discovery of Pluto in 1930, though Pluto turned out to be much smaller than what Lowell envisioned.
