  • Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy: The Local Group's Ancient Stellar Collection
The collection of ancient stars found in the center of the Local Group is called the Sagittarius Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxy.

It's a small, faint galaxy that orbits our own Milky Way galaxy. It's named after the constellation Sagittarius, where it appears in the sky. This galaxy is considered ancient because it's rich in old, metal-poor stars, which means they formed early in the Universe's history.
