* Reflection from the Moon: The Moon itself doesn't produce light. Instead, its surface reflects sunlight that falls on it.
* The angle of reflection: The amount of moonlight we see depends on the angle at which sunlight hits the Moon and the angle at which the reflected light reaches Earth. This is why we have different phases of the Moon.
So, the moonlight we see is essentially sunlight that has been reflected off the Moon's surface.
