  • Apollo 13 Spacecraft: Where Are the Modules Now?
The Apollo 13 spacecraft itself is not in one place.

    * The Command Module: The Command Module, which housed the crew during re-entry, is on display at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

    * The Service Module: The Service Module, which provided power and propulsion, was jettisoned during the mission and re-entered the Earth's atmosphere and burned up.

    * The Lunar Module: The Lunar Module (LM), which was intended to land on the Moon, was used as a "lifeboat" to get the crew back to the Command Module. It was jettisoned before re-entry and also burned up in the atmosphere.

So, while parts of the Apollo 13 spacecraft are on display, the spacecraft itself no longer exists in its entirety.
