  • Exploding Stars: Supernovae, Hypernovae & Novas Explained
There isn't one specific name for "explosion stars". However, the type of explosion and what causes it determines the name. Here are some common terms:

    * Supernova: This is the most famous type of stellar explosion. It happens when a massive star runs out of fuel and collapses under its own gravity, causing a massive explosion.

    * Hypernova: These are even more powerful explosions than supernovae, sometimes associated with the formation of black holes.

    * Nova: This is a less powerful explosion that happens when a white dwarf star pulls matter from a nearby companion star.

    * Red Nova: A rare and poorly understood explosion thought to occur when a red giant star engulfs a companion white dwarf star.

The term "explosion stars" isn't commonly used in astronomy. Instead, astronomers use more specific names to describe the different types of stellar explosions.
