  • Why is the Sky Blue? Understanding Rayleigh Scattering
A clear sky is actually blue.

While it might seem clear, the blue color is caused by a phenomenon called Rayleigh scattering. This is when sunlight interacts with the molecules in the Earth's atmosphere. Blue light waves are scattered more than other colors, making the sky appear blue.
