  • Telescopes: Understanding How We See Distant Objects
The technical instrument used to see distant objects like stars is called a telescope.

There are two main types of telescopes:

    * Refracting telescopes: These use lenses to bend light and focus it on a focal point.

    * Reflecting telescopes: These use mirrors to reflect light and focus it on a focal point.

Both types of telescopes allow us to see distant objects in greater detail than we could with the naked eye.
