  • Shared Characteristics of Planets in Our Solar System
All the planets in our solar system share some fundamental similarities:

    * Orbiting the Sun: All planets orbit the Sun in a roughly elliptical path, due to the Sun's gravitational pull.

    * Made of Matter: They are all composed of matter, primarily hydrogen and helium, but with variations in composition depending on their formation and distance from the Sun.

    * Spherical Shape: Due to their own gravity, all planets are approximately spherical.

    * No Fusion: They are not massive enough to sustain nuclear fusion, unlike stars.

    * Part of the Solar System: They are all part of the same system, formed from the same protoplanetary disk.

While these are the primary similarities, planets also have a wide range of differences in size, composition, atmosphere, temperature, and more.
