  • Earth-Sun Distance: Understanding Astronomical Units (AU)
You can't express the distance between the Earth and the Sun in centimeters! Here's why:

    * Vast Distance: The distance between the Earth and the Sun is enormous. It's approximately 149.6 million kilometers (93 million miles), which is called an Astronomical Unit (AU).

    * Practicality: Using centimeters to represent such a distance would result in an incredibly large number, making it impractical and difficult to comprehend.

    Instead of centimeters, we use:

    * Kilometers (km): 149.6 million kilometers

    * Astronomical Units (AU): 1 AU

    * Miles (mi): 93 million miles

It's important to use appropriate units of measurement for different scales.
