  • Mercury: The Planet with the Thinnest Atmosphere - Space Facts
The planet with the very least atmosphere is Mercury.

    Here's why:

    * Small Size & Weak Gravity: Mercury is the smallest planet in our solar system and has a very weak gravitational pull. This means it can't hold onto much of an atmosphere.

    * Close to the Sun: Its proximity to the Sun causes intense solar wind, which strips away any atmosphere it might have.

While Mercury has a trace atmosphere, it's so thin it's practically nonexistent compared to the Earth's or even Mars'.
